When designing high speed PCBS, we usually use multilayer boards instead of single and double layer boards. So what is the reason for the high speed PCBA to use multilayer panels?
Multilayer circuit boards have many characteristics that single - or double-layer circuit boards do not have, and it is these characteristics that lead to the use of multilayer circuit boards rather than other boards in high-speed PCB design.
1. The power supply is very stable;
2. The circuit impedance is greatly reduced;
3. The cable length is greatly shortened.
Also, from a cost point of view, while the cost of a multilayer circuit board is higher than that of a single-layer circuit board, the cost difference between a multilayer circuit board and a single-layer circuit board is not as high as it might be if other factors such as the miniaturization of the circuit board and the ease of noise reduction are taken into account. If the use area of the four-layer circuit can be reduced to 1/2 of the double-layer circuit board, the cost is the same as the double-layer circuit board. Although the batch multilayer will affect the cost per unit area of the board, there will not be a four-fold price difference. If the price difference is more than 4 times, the use area of the circuit board should be reduced to less than 1/4 of the double board.
